Romano Kit

A long, narrow, rectilinear wood frame structure inspired by two southern prototypes: the shotgun and the dogtrot. Designed to incorporate an economy of construction, the kit-of-parts construction system, made up of standard wood members comprise the shot-trot’s conception. The center of the home opens itself to the outside by means of sliding louvered barn-like doors on the exterior and glass door within. Levels of light, air and circulation can be regulated according to the changing demands of both climate and inhabitant.
