Preparing for Consultation
Please complete our Inquiry Form. We will then send you a quote and can set up a consultation date, as soon as possible.
BZD assists not only in the design process but also in navigating through the permitting, construction, and project oversight process. However, to ensure a productive session, we advise that you request and compile site information.
If you are interested in our zKIT and zFAB options, please follow the appropriate links and see the FAQ page as well.
Site Information to Prepare
To ensure a productive session, we advise that you request the following information:
A Boundary survey, highlighting location of utilities (water, sewer, electrical, septic), property lines and contours (topography map), and environmental restrictions (wetlands, conservation land, etc.)
Planning Department Regulations (using the Assessor Parcel Number or ‘APN#’ of your site).
Information regarding any special planning reviews required by the local building department (such as Historical Review, etc.)
Soil Report (if available)
Site photos.
Factors Affecting Cost
The nature of your site can affect the total cost of building on your lot, such as:
Site’s delivery and installation accessibility
Proximity and cost of utilities (such as electricity, gas, water/well, septic/sewer, since they require permitting)
Site’s environmental conditions (such as conservation areas, wetlands, coastal areas, steeply sloped lots, etc.)
Preexisting design features on-site (such as decking, site-built connectors, etc.)
Lot Size
Before a consultation it is ideal to have your project size, lot size and preferred BZD typology noted. BZD’s typologies can accommodate sites of varying sizes since we are involved in small-scale residential, medium-sized developments as well as larger-scale commercial projects.
