1. What BZD Service is best for my needs?
2. Choosing a zKIT or a zFAB?
Your choice depends on your preferences, needs, and budget. The fundamental difference between a zFAB and a zKIT is in its design, assembly, and method of delivery.
zKITs are pre-planned, site-built kit homes that are easily customizable depending on the client’s needs and lifestyle. Designs incorporate off-the-shelf components and standard unit and product sizes to reduce customization and to keep costs to a minimum.
zFABs are pre-designed, prefabricated small homes that can be manufactured and delivered to site. This makes the zFAB a fast alternative housing model.
3. What is the design and construction process?
4. Who will build my home?
The zKIT requires a local general contractor to site build the home. BZD can support finding a local builder that would be best for the project. BZD can also support during the construction process as needed.
The zFAB offers two construction options; building on-site or prefabrication. If the home is prefabricated, BZD will support the owner through the entire turn-key process. If the home is site built, BZD can support similar to the zKIT process.
5. What is my first step?
You can receive a quote by completing our online Inquiry Form. This requires BZD to receive information about your lot.
6. How do I gather information about my land in order to complete the BZD Quote Form and prepare for a consultation?
Prior to a consultation, it is ideal to gather information about your lot. More information on this can be found on our Preparing for a Consultation page.
7. What services does Brett Zamore Design provide?
Design (revising any plans and site design), Recommendation of Engineer, Interiors, Landscape Architecture, Permitting and Construction Support.
8. What are the various factors of the site that impact my potential build?
Site restrictions such as wetlands, conservation or coastal areas.
Pre-existing structures are present on the site (such as decking, site-built connectors, etc).
Historic, Deed restrictions or easements.
9. Will my home be eligible for financing?
